Technical & Administration Officer

Lusona Consultancy is delighted to be partnering on a retained basis with the Scottish Amateur Football Association for the role of ‘Technical & Administration Officer’.This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong IT and admin skills – or a recent sports-related graduate – looking to take their first step into the football industry. You’ll play a key role in supporting the COMET administration system (used across Scottish football), managing key competitions, and leading SAFA’s online and social media presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on the COMET System (training provided), supporting clubs/leagues with access and queries
- Administer online competitions including the Scottish Amateur Cup and Sunday Trophy
- Manage and update the SAFA website and social media channels
- Create and share bulletins, match info, digital content, and statistical reports
- Liaise with club officials, volunteers, and stakeholders across grassroots football
- Promote digital engagement and help modernise SAFA’s communication and operations
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in IT and administration, or a sports-related degree
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Apple/Mac OS
- Comfortable with social media management (Facebook, Instagram, X)
- Strong organisation, communication, and presentation skills
- A genuine passion for amateur football
- Holds a full UK driving licence
Additional Information:
- Salary £28,000 – £35,000 (DOE)
- Pension – 8% employer contribution
- Holidays – 35 days including statutory days.
- Life Insurance scheme (Aviva life)
- Core hours: 8:30am–4:30pm, with occasional evening/weekend support
- Hybrid working: Based at Hampden Park Glasgow G42 9DB as required, remainder from home
- Time off in lieu provided for work outside core hours
