A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Associate (2+ PQE) to join a highly regarded non-contentious insurance practice in Edinburgh. This is an opportunity to work on market-leading mandates for major UK and international insurers while collaborating closely with an established London team and a recognised partner in the insurance sector.
This role offers genuine exposure to complex, high-value work across the insurance market, making it ideal for someone looking to develop a specialist practice within a collaborative, commercially focused environment.
The Role
You'll advise a broad range of leading insurers, brokers and financial institutions on a variety of transactional and regulatory matters, including:
- Strategic partnerships and bancassurance arrangements
- Distribution and outsourcing agreements
- Insurance product development
- FCA and PRA regulatory advice
- Cross-border regulatory issues
- Reinsurance arrangements
- Insurance business transfers
- Insurance sector M&A
Working alongside an experienced partner and a highly respected London-based team, you'll gain exposure to sophisticated, cross-office matters with excellent opportunities for mentoring, client contact and career progression.
About You
You will ideally have:
- 2+ years' PQE with experience in insurance, financial services regulatory or a closely related practice area
- Strong technical ability and excellent drafting skills
- Commercial awareness and a genuine interest in the insurance sector
- A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for business development
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Candidates with broader commercial, corporate or regulatory experience and a genuine interest in specialising in insurance will also be considered.
