A leading independent Accountancy and Business Advisory firm with a strong presence across the North of England and Scotland is seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Manager to join its growing Tax Consultancy service line.

The Opportunity

As part of the expanding Indirect Tax team, you’ll play a key role in delivering complex VAT and Indirect Tax advice to clients across multiple sectors — including family-owned businesses, corporates, and entrepreneurial groups. You’ll have the autonomy to lead your own portfolio of projects, the backing of an experienced Senior Manager, and the freedom to build strong advisory relationships both internally and externally. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead your own portfolio of VAT and Indirect Tax advisory projects
  • Support the Senior Manager in delivering complex assignments and managing workflow across the team
  • Handle ad hoc VAT queries from across the wider business
  • Identify and capitalise on planning and advisory opportunities within your client base
  • Keep up to date with tax legislation, case law and HMRC guidance, translating insights into actionable advice
  • Manage projects to agreed timelines and budgets, ensuring high-quality delivery
  • Build relationships with clients, intermediaries, and professional networks to strengthen the firm’s market profile
  • Support business development initiatives to grow the VAT and Indirect Tax offering

About You

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in VAT advisory within Practice
  • Strong technical understanding of Indirect Tax across a range of sectors
  • Commercial, strategic and comfortable managing multiple advisory projects
  • Confident communicator with strong client-handling skills
  • Team player who enjoys coaching, collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and adding value
