Role Overview

As a Sustainability Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality sustainability assessments for a diverse range of UK projects. You’ll advise design teams across multiple sectors, guiding them through certification pathways and supporting the integration of sustainable principles throughout the project lifecycle. Your work will directly contribute to improving building performance, reducing environmental impact, and driving meaningful change within the built environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead BREEAM assessments from early design through to post-construction stages
  • Provide clear sustainability guidance to clients, architects, and engineering teams
  • Coordinate evidence collection and manage project documentation
  • Produce high-quality reports and certification submissions
  • Support wider sustainability initiatives including net-zero carbon strategies, environmental modelling, and related assessments
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate best-practice design measures

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in sustainability, environmental design, architecture, or a related field
  • Qualified BREEAM Assessor (New Construction or RFO)
  • Experience working in the built environment sector
  • Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks and certification processes
  • Excellent organisational and client-facing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Experience with other sustainability standards (LEED, WELL, HQM, etc.)
  • Knowledge of wider environmental analysis tools or methodologies
  • Background in building services engineering, environmental consulting, or architectural sustainability
  • Passion for sustainable design and environmental performance
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence project outcomes.
