Lusona Consultancy are partnering once again with our long-standing client in the Energy sector to recruit a Financial Analyst. This is initially a 6 month contract role with the opportunity for a longer-term opportunity beyond the initial time period. Our client is a hybrid working organisation in Glasgow with 2 days in office and 3 days a week home working. Offering a competitive salary of up to £50,000 per annum, our client offers a number of benefits including 33 days holiday, pension scheme of 5% and private healthcare.

Due to the temporary nature of this role, it is essential that the candidate has experience working with SQL and ideally exposure to Power BI.

The Opportunity

The Financial Analyst will play a key role in turning complex data into meaningful business insight. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data and wants to combine financial analysis, reporting, and commercial thinking. You’ll take ownership of stock and fixed asset reporting while developing dashboards and insights that directly influence business performance and decision-making.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage and reconcile stock and fixed asset accounts, ensuring accuracy and control
  • Prepare and post journals for asset movements, adjustments, and valuations
  • Deliver robust month-end reporting, including provisions and analysis
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and management reports
  • Analyse large datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Partner with stakeholders to provide clear, actionable insights
  • Support audits, stock counts, and financial controls
  • Drive improvements by automating reports and streamlining processes

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a finance, analytics, or reporting role
  • Strong skills in Excel and Power BI (essential)
  • Ability to work confidently with large and complex datasets
  • Good understanding of financial processes and controls
  • Knowledge of SQL and data modelling
  • Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CA) preferred
