Luso Court Care Centre is a newly commissioned specialist care home in Clapham, London supporting adults with complex nursing needs, dementia and mental health conditions. The home offers 80 en suite bedrooms across two floors and provides complex nursing care, specialist dementia care and residential mental health support within a safe and clinically led environment.

£13.90 per hour

Full time and part time contracts available

Day shifts and night shifts available

Pension, Paid DBS, Uniform provided

5.6 weeks annual leave based on a full time contract

The Role

As Senior Care Assistant, you will play an important leadership role within the care team, supporting residents with complex physical health needs, dementia and mental health conditions. You will lead shifts, coordinate the care team and ensure residents receive safe, high quality and person‑centred care at all times. Working closely with Nurses and the wider clinical team, you will support residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition, and daily routines while ensuring dignity, safety and wellbeing are always prioritised. You will also support the accurate completion of care plans, risk assessments and daily records, ensuring care is delivered in line with each resident’s needs and preferences. You will provide guidance and support to Care Assistants during each shift, helping to maintain high standards of care, positive teamwork and a calm, supportive environment. Your role will include monitoring residents’ wellbeing, reporting changes promptly to the clinical team, and responding appropriately to emergencies or incidents. As part of a newly commissioned specialist service, you will help establish strong routines, promote best practice and contribute to creating a safe, therapeutic and welcoming environment where residents can live fulfilling lives.

What We Are Looking For

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is essential, or you must be actively working towards it
  • Experience working as a Senior Care Assistant or experienced Care Assistant within a care home or complex care setting
  • Practical medication administration training and competencies
  • Confidence leading shifts and supporting care teams
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A compassionate and respectful approach to person‑centred care
