Diversity matters
We are building a brand that represents the people of the world. It’s what you do that counts, and we are always looking to expand perspectives and voices to shape our future.
We see you, we celebrate you, we want you!
Who we are
You might know us as the inventors of the bath bomb, but there’s more to this great-smelling, partly employee-owned, family-run company than pioneering cosmetics. We believe our business should put more back into the world than it takes and demonstrate that capitalism can be a force for good.
The Living Wage Foundation’s statement ‘a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay’ is one that we are proud to commit to in the UK. As an accredited Living Wage employer, we put our people first and fight cruel practices like animal testing, promote regeneration, and show that it is what’s inside that counts – whether that’s an ingredient in a product, or the minerals in a smartphone.
Please note: We may close this vacancy early if we receive an overwhelming response or our business requirements change.
The Team
You’ll be part of the product content team, supporting the Lush inventors with writing great product copy and ensuring it reaches relevant touch points from labels to web.
With the inventors as our clients, the goal of this team is to ensure their messages, and the values of the business, are communicated to our customers in a way that’s creative, fun and authentic.
With support from our team, you’ll write product copy that is on-brand, true to the inventor’s intentions and gets products into customers’ hands. This may include but is not limited to label copy, web copy, shop signage and articles.
Please note that the role is based in Poole – Unit 1 – the hub of our innovation. However, location can be discussed at the interview stage.
Key Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Using inventors’ notes and directions to write copy that is on brand and gets products into customers’ hands.
- Checking ingredients stories with our Buying Team for accuracy and recording any ‘green claims’ we make in our green claims doc (full training provided).
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Good writing skills and the ability to proof your own work.
- Able to work to established product copy templates.
- Great time-management skills and the ability to work to a deadline.
- Flexible approach to writing, as determined by the inventor. You may be required to offer support with phrasing, adapting inventor copy for a web template or writing from scratch with their direction.
- A knowledge of Lush products would be an advantage.
