Calling all wonderful creatives across Lush to have the opportunity to join the Gift Design team Talent Pool and have the chance to be involved in designing the upcoming Christmas 2027 Gift Collections.

Successful candidates will be given the opportunity to join the gifts design talent pool with the opportunity to join the team for our virtual design workshops on the 4th of January. The collection we will be working on will be Christmas 2027.

After the workshops there will be further opportunities to develop designs that may become a gift in the final Christmas 2027 collection.

Introduction

Handmade is at the heart of Lush. So, when it comes to our seasonal ranges, we really do want to knock our customers' socks off. We get our hands dirty collaging, painting, inking and sticking – all the messy, magical bits you used to love as a child – in a bid to make gifts that have stories as well as style.

Large or small, each gift is carefully thought out and crafted, from the handmade treats nestled inside to the final tie of the ribbon. We’d love to say that we make beautiful presents by hand just for the joy of it, but we must confess it’s not entirely without motive. It’s our hope that by paying so much attention to every aspect from box to bath, the lucky recipient has extra incentive to keep the boxes, reuse the wrapping paper or upcycle the ribbons. We’re not manufacturing throwaway fillers but keepsakes that we hope our customers will treasure.

Portfolio submission deadline - 19th October 2026
Design Brief deadline for shortlisted candidates - 26th October 2026
Feedback received and chosen attendees contacted by - 30th October 2026
Meet the Gift design team and a run through of what is to be expected - TBC
Virtual workshop week -
Christmas: 4th - 8th January 2027 (approx 40 hour week, 9am-4pm UK time).

Pay for the workshop week
In order to pay everyone fairly for their contribution to the workshop week, we will be paying a salary of £12.60ph which is the salary of our junior designers within Lush, or your usual salary if higher. We will continue to pay this rate for any further development work given after the workshops should a design be successful. If your pay is higher than this then you will be paid your hourly rate. Your department/shop will need to recharge their wages back to be paid by Gift Design, Cosmetic Warriors.

If you’re interested in joining us for our workshop week, please discuss with your manager whether you can attend the full week starting 4 January. Additionally, you must still be employed by Lush during the workshop week and for any follow-up development work.

Please note that the final gift sign-off process is TBC. Final developed designs aren't guaranteed to be signed off for the final collection.

If you’re on a temporary contract, please confirm that your availability covers the full period needed to finalise your designs before the deadline.

Please make sure you attach a link to your portfolio in your personal summary.

Please note: We may close this vacancy early if we receive an overwhelming response or our business requirements change.

Project Deliverables

A digital portfolio of your work with examples of surface pattern design, illustration and any gift ideas you have created (we will not accept original pieces at this stage). Please feel free to include a link to your website, instagram or behance.
A short summary of who you are and why you would like to be considered for the gifts talent pool.
Your Lush email address to contact you on (and a personal email if you’re happy to share it)
Please let us know if you would like us to retain your portfolio and contact information for future projects by joining our Talent Pool.
