The role
In this role, you’ll be the face of the store, welcoming customers and providing a fun, engaging shopping experience. You’ll use your product knowledge to offer personalised recommendations, perform pampering and engaging product demonstrations, and hand out tailored samples. Working closely with your team, you’ll help drive sales, exceed targets, and create memorable in-store events that keep customers coming back. You\’ll also manage stock, ensure the shop floor looks its best, and adapt displays to seasonal trends. With flexible shifts, a competitive hourly rate based on the Living Wage, and opportunities for bonuses, you’ll be well-supported through training and development to grow your skills.

KEY INFORMATION

Hours available:

8 hours per week initially, with opportunity for more hours after initial training (2-3 weeks)
Application Deadline: 3rd September 2025
Interview Dates: 11th, 12th, 17th, 18th or 19th September (day time and evening slots available).

Shop floor trial shifts: 26th, 27th, 28th September, 3rd, 4th, 5th October (morning and afternoon slots available)

Number of positions available: 6-8
There is potential for a small number of permanent positions at the conclusion of the contract.

Availability required:
–
You must be available 3 days of the week, including at least one weekend day.
– You must be available to work in Preston up until at least 30th December 2025.
– All members of staff must be available to work either Christmas Eve or Boxing Day

Minimum age:
You must be at least 16 years of age as of 31st August 2025 to be eligible for the role. No upper limit, of course!

THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS:

Next stage: In person group interview
What to expect: The group interviews will take place on the shop floor either during quiet open hours or after hours. During the interview, there will be a number of activities based around getting to know you a little more and getting hands on with product demonstrations. More information will be provided in interview invites, but the activities will include pampering demonstrations such as cleansing and applying face masks on faces (other attendees or staff). Don\’t worry if you haven\’t done it before, we will give you the info you need. You will be more than welcome to receive a pampering treatment as part of the activity though receiving a treatment won\’t be essential.

Final stage: shop floor trial
What to expect: The shop floor trials last around 1-1.5 hours. We invite you to join us as a member of staff on shop floor and put into practise product demonstrations you picked up during your interview as well as others we will show you on the day. As Christmas is our busiest time of year, we\’re looking for team mates who are happy to hit the ground running, get stuck in on the shop floor and have fun with our products and our customers.

ACCESSIBILITY:
Lush Preston has step-free access from the street directly onto the shop floor. The main staff room, stock room and toilet are accessed via 2 flights of stairs only. Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming store environment.
  • Engage with customers to understand their needs, provide personalized recommendations, and offer product demonstrations, incuding on the hands, arms, face, scalp and feet.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by using in-depth product knowledge and offering tailored samples.
  • Assist in hosting in-store events, providing a memorable and inclusive experience for customers.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and visually appealing shop floor.
  • Support the store’s sales targets by promoting products creatively and working as part of a team to exceed goals.
  • Manage stock levels efficiently, ensuring shelves are well-stocked and ready for our customers to shop from.
  • Actively control store costs, such as product waste, to help meet the shop’s budget.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance product knowledge and customer service skills.
  • Collaborate with the team to foster an inclusive, respectful working environment, contributing to the overall customer experience.
  • Work on in-store and external events to leave lasting impressions on customers.

One minute we can be entertaining a group of visitors with a spectacular bubbly bath demonstration, the next we are slowing down delivering a pampering experience to a visitor who needs a rest, taking time to get to know them and applying our beautiful skincare to their face while they sit back and relax. We are looking for people who are excited to create these wonderful experiences for all our guests.
