LUSAS is a high tech company specialising in the development of application software for bridge and civil/structural analysis and design, based on the LUSAS finite element system. We also provide dedicated engineering consultancy services for performing engineering analyses. We seek an Engineering Consultant to join our team of engineers undertaking consultancy projects and supporting our worldwide client base.

You should have a good degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and a minimum of two years analysis/design experience using stress analysis software in structural engineering, preferably including one of these areas: bridge design, LNG analyses, geotechnics. Experience of using LUSAS would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be given. Although the minimum requirement is two years analysis/design experience, this vacancy will also suit more senior engineers. Senior engineers are encouraged to apply and will be considered for the Senior Engineering Consultant position.

The position will involve:

  • Carrying out analysis and third-party checking on a range of consultancy projects such as bridge design and assessment, stadium design checks, LNG tank design, special structures etc.
  • Providing technical support to LUSAS users worldwide
  • Presenting LUSAS training courses
  • Providing pre-sales support to the UK sales team, LUSAS offices and distributors worldwide

Among your personal qualities will be good communication skills, an imaginative problem-solving ability, a highly proactive attitude, strong customer focus and the ability to be a good team player. The job will provide exposure to a wide range of interesting engineering problems and an opportunity for you to further develop your analysis skills. An excellent remuneration package is available dependent on experience.
