Overview: We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a 2-bed children's home in St Helens. This role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the home and ensuring high-quality, child-centred care for children and young people with emotional, behavioural, and complex needs. You will provide strong leadership, maintain regulatory compliance, and create a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the children's home and ensure high standards of care.
  • Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations, the Children's Act, and relevant legislation.
  • Lead, support, train, and supervise a team of residential care workers.
  • Develop and manage individual care plans tailored to each child's needs.
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for all children.
  • Conduct quality audits, maintain documentation, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with external professionals, families, and local authorities.
  • Manage budgets, staff rotas, resources, and operational planning.

Essential Requirements:

  • Registered Manager status with Ofsted
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a management or senior role within children's residential care.
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted requirements, the Children's Act, and safeguarding procedures.
  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Health and Social Care
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience managing a small children's home.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management approaches and care planning.
  • Understanding of therapeutic or trauma-informed practice.
