Lupa is building a category defining product the industry has never seen before. We’re the AI-native operating system for veterinary practices and pet parents, replacing the fragmented, clunky systems vets have tolerated for years with a single intelligent platform for scheduling, client communication, clinical documentation, and AI-driven care guidance. Practices run more efficiently, vets get back to doing what they love, and pet parents feel more connected to their animals’ health than ever.

The traction speaks for itself: one of Europe’s top 100 AI startups with a team of 50 people, 10x growth in twelve months, the UK market leader, and now charging hard into the US and Europe. We have $25M in funding, 1M+ pets on the platform, and a buzzing HQ in Paddington, London. This is a rare chance to join a rocket ship at exactly the right moment and we’re looking for exceptional people to help us fly it.

In this role, you will:

  • The Foundation
    • Own the month-end close process from start to finish, producing clean, accurate reporting that the leadership team can act on, across multiple entities.
    • Own FinOps end-to-end - accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash management - running reliably at pace as we scale internationally.
    • Build the KPI reporting layer that gives leadership a real-time picture of performance - and use AI to automate the parts of finance that shouldn’t need a human.
  • The Upside
    • Business partner the commercial, product and engineering teams on the decisions behind the numbers.
    • Build the budget and rolling forecast alongside the Finance Director.
    • Own the analysis behind the commercial questions that actually move the business – pricing, unit economics, cost to serve and market entry.
    • Build the numbers behind our board & investor reporting, including getting involved with future funding rounds.

Your background looks something like:

  • ACA qualified (essential) - ACCA or CIMA considered for the right candidate.
  • Recently qualified or 0–2 years PQE, ideally Big 4 trained out of audit, transaction services, or deal advisory.
  • Strong academics and the commercial sharpness to be pulled into strategy conversations, not just execution.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and high ownership - you take responsibility beyond the job description without being asked.
  • Experience at a B2B SaaS or tech scale-up finance function (nice to have).
  • Xero experience and/or financial modelling skills (nice to have).
  • International exposure (nice to have).

As a person, you:

  • Have genuine enthusiasm and a hunger to learn; this role can become whatever you make it, and we want someone who sees that as exciting, not daunting.
  • Are sharp enough to be in the room for the important conversations and confident enough to contribute when you get there.
  • Take real ownership; you don’t wait to be told something needs doing, you spot it and sort it.
  • Are comfortable operating with ambiguity in a fast-moving environment where the playbook is still being written.
  • Are excited to work in-person from our Paddington, London HQ.
  • Value working with people who are kind, ambitious, and pragmatic.

What does success look like in 6 months?

  • You run Month end & FinOps cleanly with minimal oversight.
  • You’re the trusted point of contact across the business for day-to-day finance questions.
  • You’ve owned a piece of analysis that changed a decision – a pricing call, a cost line, an expansion question etc.
  • You’ve already identified and automated at least one process using AI - and have a list of what’s next.
