We are recruiting on behalf of a valued client for an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join a specialist solo placement children's home in Widnes. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in providing exceptional care and support to a young person with complex emotional and behavioural needs within a nurturing and therapeutic environment.

Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will help lead a dedicated team, ensuring the home delivers outstanding outcomes and maintains the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance.

The Role

  • Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operation of the home.
  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of Residential Support Workers to provide outstanding care.
  • Promote positive outcomes for children and young people, encouraging independence, education and personal development.
  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times.
  • Assist with staff supervision, training, rota planning and performance management.
  • Support the development and implementation of care plans and risk assessments.
  • Maintain compliance with Ofsted regulations and quality standards.
  • Build positive relationships with young people, families, local authorities and external professionals.
  • Act as a role model, creating a warm, stable and supportive home environment.
  • Participate in the on-call rota and provide leadership when required.

About You

  • Passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people.
  • Experienced in residential childcare, ideally within a solo or therapeutic placement setting.
  • A confident leader with excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Resilient, empathetic and able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Experienced in safeguarding and behaviour management strategies.
  • Committed to achieving outstanding outcomes for young people.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Working towards or willing to undertake the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
  • Previous experience in a Senior Residential Support Worker or Deputy Manager role.
  • Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and children's home standards.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and participate in an on-call rota.
