The predicted salary is between 24180 - 33280 £ per year.

Working Pattern: 30-40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 52 weeks per year. Hours of work flexible and agreed at interview with the right candidate.

Location: Remote (with occasional office days in CB5).

Responsible to: Finance Director.

Salary: £15.50 - £16.00 per hour (£24,180 - £33,280 per annum).

The Job: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Finance Assistant who can make a valuable contribution to our Finance Department.

Person Specification:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a busy finance office
  • AAT Level 3 qualified or above, or qualified by experience
  • Excellent communication skills both spoken and written
  • Competent with Microsoft Office packages
  • Strong Excel skills for data manipulation and analysis
  • Familiar with Sage accounting software, or similar platforms (Sage Intacct would be an advantage)
  • Experience in payroll processing
  • High level of accuracy and ability to identify errors in financial data
  • Ability to interpret financial data and draw meaningful conclusions
  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and support the wider team with their requests
  • Experience supervising junior colleagues
  • Ability to manage your workload in a fast-paced environment where multitasking is often required

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Data entry and record keeping
  • Accurate inputting financial data into accounting software, maintaining organised financial records and reconciling bank/card statements
  • Company expense claims
  • Maintaining company expenses software and processing and reconciling expenses claims daily and monthly
  • Compliance and audit support
  • Ensuring accuracy of records kept and assisting with gathering necessary documentation as and when required, adhering to company policies and relevant financial regulations
  • Invoice processing /Accounts receivables
  • Raising invoices to clients, payment collection, reconciliation, client communication and prompt query solving
  • Budget support
  • Assisting finance colleagues and management team with budget preparations and reviews
  • Financial reporting and analysis
  • Performing basic data analysis to support trends and performance monitoring, assisting with month end/year end reporting and reconciliations
  • Collaboration and communication
  • Providing financial information to other departments and managers, responding to various data requests in a timely and accurate manner, communicating financial data to non-finance stakeholders
  • Supervise the Junior Finance Assistant and provide support and advice as necessary
  • Collaborate with your senior finance colleagues to ensure accurate and timely purchase and sales ledger data processing and collaborating on various finance tasks and projects, as required
  • Supporting the Payroll Manager with monthly payroll completion as required
