Lúnasa is a UK-based New Space company (acquired by Infinite Orbits) building advanced and autonomous systems and satellites for in-orbit satellite services.

Our mission is to provide satellite operators with all the in-orbit services they need, from the inspection of their assets to the extension of their lifespan and the management of the end-of-life phase.

The company has received multiple contracts from the UK Space Agency and ESA to build and deploy AI-based satellite rendezvous proximity operations (RPO) technology and is set to demonstrate the innovation in space by 2027.

This position is for a candidate who has the right to work in the UK.

Job Summary

Lúnasa is looking for an Engineering Project Manager to join our growing team.

This key role will be at the heart of our space engineering projects, leading efforts to manage project scope, cost, and schedule.

The candidate will work closely with our systems engineers to plan design, verification and operations activities.

The successful candidate will also need to communicate well with all members of the team to keep each project they manage on track.

The role involves future growth potentials in areas such as participation in key design trade studies, procurement planning, spacecraft operations and more.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of Lúnasa’s spacecraft technology and mission-development projects from contract kick-off through design, development, testing and delivery.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, resource plans and delivery forecasts.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities across systems, software, GNC/AOCS, mechanical, electrical, AI/vision and AIT teams.
  • Own project execution against scope, schedule, cost and quality objectives, proactively identifying deviations and driving corrective actions.
  • Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, opportunities and change control, ensuring clear ownership and timely resolution.
  • Run regular project reviews, internal progress meetings and technical/programmatic coordination meetings.
  • Prepare and coordinate project reporting, including progress reports, milestone evidence, financial reporting and customer deliverables.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers and project partners, ensuring their activities and deliverables remain aligned with the overall programme.
  • Coordinate closely with Lúnasa and Infinite Orbits engineering leadership to ensure technical activities are appropriately resourced and aligned with programme priorities.
  • Support proposal development and new programme planning by developing schedules, work packages, resource estimates, budgets and delivery strategies.
  • Establish and continuously improve project-management processes, tools, reporting and governance as Lúnasa’s UK activities scale.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to give presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
