Job Description
This is a rare opportunity for a senior corporate solicitor who's keen to step off the standard City track and into a genuinely differentiated practice.
Our client is built around the high value niche of sport, and it's given them a seat at the table on some of the largest and most complex deals of their kind.
It's the sort of work that would normally sit with a much bigger platform.
In this varied role you'll be working on high quality corporate transactional work: company sales, joint ventures, growth stage investment, and high value M&A, much of it involving private capital.
Deal sizes and complexity are a step up from what's typical at this level.
You'll be running a genuine mix, some deals with a heavy regulatory and governance layer alongside the transaction itself, others more conventional in structure but bigger in scale.
Beyond the deal work, you'll get real breadth: advisory work on governance frameworks, helping set up new commercial structures from scratch, and regulatory matters.
It's the kind of range that's hard to find in a traditional corporate practice.
This would suit an experienced lawyer at Senior Associate or Managing Associate level who's built a solid grounding in private company M&A, joint ventures, and venture style deals at a leading City practice.
Our client is looking for someone who wants more ownership, more variety, and closer client contact than a larger firm typically offers.
- What our client is looking for
- Strong corporate foundation in private M&A, joint ventures, and venture capital, from a well regarded City firm
- A confident, natural communicator who's comfortable leading client relationships
- Strong academics
No specific sector background required. What matters is the appetite to go deep in the specialist area of sport.
