An excellent opportunity has arisen for a paralegal in the corporate and private equity department of a top US firm.
The firm is top tier in the US and has been growing their London office. In the past two years, they have doubled in size and have attracted partners from Magic Circle and other top US firms.
The corporate department specialises in private equity and mergers & acquisitions and works with some really interesting clients and on high profile deals. The department is diverse and friendly, providing a great environment to work in. You will join two other paralegals in the department and sit with the associates, ensuring you are integrated with the team.
The paralegal role is varied and will include the usual paralegal duties as well as tasks more akin to a trainee. These may include:
- Document management (pre and post completion)
- Compiling transaction bibles (hard copy and E bibles)
- Conducting due diligence
- Company secretarial support (Companies House Filings, drafting board minutes and written resolutions of directors and shareholders)
- Verification exercises
- Assisting with signings
- Data room management
- Legal research
Excellent academics are essential, and ideally, you will have completed the LPC/SQE with relevant corporate electives. At least 12 months corporate paralegal experience is required, but they are flexible regarding the type of firm this has been at (US, City or Regional).
This is a permanent paralegal role and will have fantastic prospects for progression for the right paralegal. The firm is open to making this a contract role and welcomes future trainees who have secured training contracts to start in September next year or later to apply.
