We are supporting a high-quality children’s residential provider in recruiting an experienced Registered Manager to lead a new home within their growing organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, child-focused leader to take ownership of a brand-new service, shape the culture from day one, and drive outstanding outcomes for children and young people.
As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the full operational leadership of the home, ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards, embedding a strong safeguarding culture, and building a skilled, motivated staff team. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to open the service, register with Ofsted, and establish a nurturing, structured environment where children can thrive.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the opening and registration of a new children’s home
- Ensure full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and Ofsted expectations
- Provide strong leadership, supervision and development for the staff team
- Oversee safe recruitment, training, appraisals and reflective practice
- Manage referrals, matching, admissions and placement stability
- Maintain high-quality care planning, risk assessments and safeguarding practice
- Build positive relationships with external professionals, families and the wider community
- Lead on audits, quality assurance and continuous improvement
- Manage budgets, resources and staffing levels effectively
- Ensure robust record-keeping, incident management and regulatory reporting
- Promote a therapeutic, child-centred culture that supports emotional, social and educational development
- Competitive salary dependent on experience (£45,000–£60,000)

- Excellent communication, resilience and decision-making skills
