About the Homes
These are two brand‑new children’s residential homes supporting young people aged 11–17 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). Each home will care for up to two children, with a strong Registered Manager already in place and a developing team structure including Deputy Manager, Team Leaders, RSWs, and Night RSWs.
As Deputy Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping the culture, standards, and consistency of the homes from day one.
The Role
The Deputy Manager supports the Registered Manager in the overall leadership and operational management of the homes. You’ll ensure high‑quality care, strong safeguarding practice, and compliance with Ofsted regulations. You’ll lead shifts when required, support staff development, and help drive a therapeutic, child‑centred environment. This role is ideal for experienced seniors or Team Leaders ready to step into a leadership position within a new, well‑supported service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the day‑to‑day running of both homes
- Lead, supervise, and develop the staff team, ensuring consistent high‑quality care
- Oversee safeguarding, risk management, and behaviour support strategies
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted standards, legislation, and internal policies
- Support with recruitment, onboarding, training, and staff performance
- Contribute to care planning, key working, and multi‑agency communication
- Quality‑check records, reports, incident logs, and documentation
- Lead shifts when required and act as senior decision‑maker in the RM’s absence
- Promote a safe, nurturing, structured environment for young people aged 11–17
- Drive a positive, therapeutic culture aligned with trauma‑informed practice
- Support the development of new systems, routines, and operational processes
