Location: Goffs Oak, EN7 Service Type: Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) Capacity: Maximum 2 children per home Salary: £40,000 – £42,000 Driving Licence: Ideally required Experience: Direct children’s residential experience essential About the Homes These are two brand‑new children’s residential homes supporting young people aged 11–17 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). Each home will care for up to two children, with a strong Registered Manager already in place and a developing team structure including Deputy Manager, Team Leaders, RSWs, and Night RSWs. As Deputy Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping the culture, standards, and consistency of the homes from day one. The Role The Deputy Manager supports the Registered Manager in the overall leadership and operational management of the homes. You’ll ensure high‑quality care, strong safeguarding practice, and compliance with Ofsted regulations. You’ll lead shifts when required, support staff development, and help drive a therapeutic, child‑centred environment. This role is ideal for experienced seniors or Team Leaders ready to step into a leadership position within a new, well‑supported service. Key Responsibilities * Support the Registered Manager with the day‑to‑day running of both homes * Lead, supervise, and develop the staff team, ensuring consistent high‑quality care * Oversee safeguarding, risk management, and behaviour support strategies * Ensure compliance with Ofsted standards, legislation, and internal policies * Support with recruitment, onboarding, training, and staff performance * Contribute to care planning, key working, and multi‑agency communication * Quality‑check records, reports, incident logs, and documentation * Lead shifts when required and act as senior decision‑maker in the RM’s absence * Promote a safe, nurturing, structured environment for young people aged 11–17 * Drive a positive, therapeutic culture aligned with trauma‑informed practice * Support the development of new systems, routines, and operational processes Requirements * Direct experience in children’s residential care is essential * Strong understanding of EBD, trauma‑informed practice, and behaviour management * Leadership or senior experience within a residential setting * Confident decision‑making, communication, and organisational skills * Ability to support, motivate, and develop staff * Flexibility to work shifts, sleep‑ins, and support on‑call arrangements * A driving licence is ideal * Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 3 Children & Young People) are beneficial — training and qualifications can be funded Company Benefits * Company car * Birthday reward & paid day off * Employee of the Month recognition * Refer‑a‑friend bonus * Strong, supportive Registered Manager * Qualifications fully funded * Overtime rate + uplift * Counselling referrals – 6 free sessions * Christmas & Boxing Day paid at double time * £1,000 loyalty bonus after 5 years * Sleep‑in allowance: £70 per night
