We are looking for an experienced multi drop delivery driver, based in Bridgwater to join our expanding team sub-contracting to DPD in Exeter.

Candidate needs to be competent and reliable and role is on a self-employed basis.

The successful candidates will have proven multi-drop delivery experience.

This role requires great customer service, good communication and the ability to work effectively under their own direction including time keeping and problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering packages to designated locations within timed delivery windows.
  • Operating a van safely and responsibly.
  • Loading and unloading variable sized parcels to ensure safe handling.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and management.
  • Work effectively under pressure to include meeting strict time guidelines, locating properties and problem solving.
  • Perform your own basic vehicle maintenance checks to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Ensure deliveries are made to the highest standards and are made within compliance specifications.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a multi drop delivery driver, minimum one year experience required (DPD, Amazon, Fedex, DHL, Evri, Yodel) (reference may be required)
  • The successful candidates will require a valid DBS check certificate.
  • Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety practices is an advantage.
  • A valid full UK driving license for more than two years with no more than 6 points and no outstanding convictions.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Capable to lift a variety of different sized parcel up to maximum weight of 30kg.
  • Use of own mobile device is needed to use DPD app.
  • Ability to maintain your own tax accounts and HMRC requirements – support can be provided via WISE app.
  • What We Can Offer You;
  • £140 a day (fixed day rate).
  • Additional stop rate when delivering over 120 stops (route dependant).
  • Weekly bonus for exceeding minimum services requirement
  • 4 weekly pay cycle.
  • Van, fuel & insurance is provided at no extra cost (for business use only) (excess damage costs apply).
  • The van must be returned to the depot daily unless agreed (no personal use)
  • Pre-planned route (although you can make changes depending on route knowledge).
  • Assistance with van loading.
  • Average 100 – 150+ stops per day.
  • Work available 7 days a week.
  • Flexibility regarding planned days to work - we will plan a weekly rota in advance which allows you the ability to vary different days off.
  • Full DPD compliance training is provided (two days training is required).
  • Constant remote assistance and support whilst making deliveries (helping to find properties etc).
  • Support with van loading and parcel sorting.
  • No age requirements are needed; however, experience is a must.
  • Work provided by a world leading parcel delivery network.
