Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our Software team.

Responsibilities

• You will contribute to a team of multi‑disciplinary engineers responsible for the Infrastructure Monitoring System
• You will be a key contributor to our Scrum team, bringing your experience in solving complex problems as we implement new features and improve existing offerings for the distributed System.
• You will regularly describing/presenting technical solutions to various stakeholders
• You will be working closely with the Product Owner and Scrum Master to provide regular releases/updates of the Infrastructure Monitoring System and the Web offering
• Release cycle of approx. 3-4 months
• You will be developing new features for the Infrastructure Monitoring System and the associated Web offering
• You will also be maintaining our current products
• You will provide expert guidance on technical issues encountered by our on‑site Field Engineering team
• You will provide technical assistance and support to our end customers

Qualifications and Skills

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related degree, or relevant work experience
• At least 5 years Software Development experience
• Minimum of 2 years of Java
• Working in an Agile / Scrum environment
• Knowledge of a variety of Engineering tools across the entire software lifecycle, such as Atlassian, Mercurial / Git, Maven (or equivalent)
• Good networking knowledge including protocols such as HTTP & TCP
• Linux expertise would be an advantage
• Knowledge of signal processing techniques would be an advantage
• Knowledge of multi‑threading and distributed processing is advantageous

Job Type: Full‑Time, Permanent

Work Location: Winfrith, Dorset, UK (Hybrid Working)

Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday
