We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our Software team.
Responsibilities:
- You will contribute to a team of multi‐disciplinary engineers responsible for the Infrastructure Monitoring System.
- You will be a key contributor to our Scrum team, bringing your experience in solving complex problems as we implement new features and improve existing offerings for the distributed System.
- You will regularly describe/present technical solutions to various stakeholders.
- You will be working closely with the Product Owner and Scrum Master to provide regular releases/updates of the Infrastructure Monitoring System and the Web offering (Release cycle of approx. 3-4 months).
- You will be developing new features for the Infrastructure Monitoring System and the associated Web offering.
- You will also be maintaining our current products.
- You will provide expert guidance on technical issues encountered by our on‐site Field Engineering team.
- You will provide technical assistance and support to our end customers.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related degree, or relevant work experience.
- At least 5 years Software Development experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of Java.
- Working in an Agile / Scrum environment.
- Knowledge of a variety of Engineering tools across the entire software lifecycle, such as Atlassian, Mercurial / Git, Maven (or equivalent).
- Good networking knowledge including protocols such as HTTP & TCP.
- Linux expertise would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of signal processing techniques would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of multi‐threading and distributed processing is advantageous.
Job Type: Full‐Time, Permanent
Work Location: Winfrith, Dorset, UK (Hybrid Working)
Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday
