We require a book publicist to promote books by creating and executing marketing campaigns.
We are a small business, so we seek entry-level expertise that would suit graduates or candidates who want to work in publishing starting at the end of June 2025. It could suit an author who has had success in marketing their own work and wishes to pass on their experience.
Remuneration: £500 per book (approx. one month\’s work).
Responsibilities
- Create publicity plans: Develop bespoke plans for each book in collaboration with the author and publisher.
- Write press releases: Craft press releases that grab the reader\’s attention.
- Pitch media: Contact journalists and other media outlets to secure coverage.
- Arrange interviews: Confirm interviews with authors and journalists.
- Organise events: Plan book tours, conferences, and other events.
- Create publicity materials: Design media kits and other materials to catch the eye of consumers and reviewers.
- Follow up: Follow up with media outlets and authors.
