Lumon is a leading fintech company specialising in foreign exchange and international payments. We're passionate about empowering individuals and businesses to effortlessly manage their overseas transactions, but our mission goes far beyond moving money – we enable our clients' success through innovative risk management solutions that unite people, technology, and expertise.

As we continue to scale, we are looking for a commercially minded, delivery-focused Head of Product Management to lead our product function during a maternity cover period.

What’s the role?

We are seeking an experienced Head of Product Management who can balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution and operational delivery. This is not a “product purist” role focused solely on discovery and vision‑setting; instead, we are looking for someone who thrives in fast‑paced scale‑up environments and can drive cross‑functional delivery across product, technology, operations, compliance, and commercial teams. You will work closely with the CPTO, engineering leadership, and senior stakeholders to ensure product initiatives are delivered effectively, priorities remain aligned to business outcomes, and teams maintain momentum across a complex fintech environment. This role is ideally suited to someone with strong fintech or payments experience who is comfortable operating across product management, programme delivery, stakeholder management, and execution leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Leadership & Delivery: Lead and coordinate the product management function during the maternity cover period, including line management of four direct reports. Own product planning, prioritisation, and execution across multiple concurrent initiatives. Ensure delivery teams maintain focus, momentum, and accountability against agreed objectives and timelines. Drive execution of roadmap initiatives across customer experience, payments, FX, onboarding, compliance, and operational tooling. Partner closely with engineering and design leadership to ensure effective delivery processes and pragmatic decision‑making.
  • Cross‑Functional Stakeholder Management: Act as the central coordination point between Product, Engineering, Compliance, Operations, Sales, and Customer Success teams. Translate business priorities into actionable product outcomes and delivery plans. Facilitate clear communication on roadmap progress, risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines. Support executive decision‑making through strong commercial and operational awareness.
  • Product Operations & Process: Improve and maintain product operating rhythms, planning frameworks, and delivery governance. Ensure backlog management, prioritisation, sprint planning, and roadmap tracking are effective and outcome‑oriented. Introduce pragmatic process improvements where required without creating unnecessary bureaucracy. Help establish measurable KPIs and reporting around product performance and delivery effectiveness.
  • Customer & Commercial Focus: Maintain strong awareness of customer needs, operational pain points, and market dynamics. Work with commercial teams to support strategic client opportunities and product enhancements. Balance customer value, regulatory requirements, technical constraints, and business priorities effectively.

Required Experience

  • Significant experience in Product Management leadership roles within fintech, FX, payments, banking, or regulated financial services.
  • Proven track record of leading cross‑functional product delivery in fast‑paced environments.
  • Strong operational and execution focus with the ability to “get things done.”
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams and software delivery processes.
  • Comfortable managing ambiguity, competing priorities, and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to align product decisions with business goals.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience within FX, international payments, treasury, or B2B fintech platforms.
  • Familiarity with regulated financial environments including KYC, AML, compliance workflows, and payment operations.
  • Experience scaling product processes within growing technology businesses.
  • Exposure to platform modernisation, API products, or operational tooling.

What Success Looks Like

  • Product initiatives are delivered effectively and predictably during the cover period.
  • Stakeholders across the business feel aligned, informed, and supported.
  • Product and engineering teams maintain clarity, focus, and execution momentum.
  • Commercial and operational priorities are balanced pragmatically.
  • The product function exits the maternity cover period in a strong and stable position.

What can we offer you?

  • 25 days of annual leave, with a chance to purchase up to 5 more.
  • Birthday off.
  • 2 additional days off for ‘Moments that Matter’.
  • Monthly lunch and social events.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Season ticket loan.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Salary Sacrifice Pension.
  • 4x Life Assurance.
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave.
  • Access to gym discounts as well as a wide range of other benefits and discounts through our online portal.
