We are looking for a commercial, hands-on, and proactive HR Business Partner to support key business units. This is a fast-paced, generalist role, and will be perfect for somebody who thrives in a dynamic, changing environment, where no two days are the same. You will work closely with leaders and the wider people team to attract, retain, and develop our talent, to make a real impact on Lumon’s growth and culture.
Main Purpose of the role:
- Proactively engage with all levels of the workforce to resolve employee relations issues, taking appropriate informal or formal steps to resolve disputes and conflicts with corrective actions.
- Monitor and coach managers on performance management to ensure that underperformance is adequately managed and regularly report on performance management activity.
- Coach managers on improving soft skills, including communication, feedback, performance appraisals, reward and recognition.
- Ensure probation management is effective and that management are supported in this activity and taking resulting decisions.
- Ensure human resources policies and procedures are current, consistent and legally compliant, including financial services regulations, for the UK and Europe.
- Provide robust support in the delivery of disciplinary and capability procedures to ensure the maintenance of company standards in terms of conduct, processes and performance.
- Oversee employee engagement and pulse surveys, including analysis and action plans.
- Drive quarterly review cycles, ensuring performance goals are in place and having a direct impact on the organisation’s strategic priorities.
- Partner with Management to support European workforce, ensuring compliance with local employment laws, payroll requirements, work practices and culture.
- Support hiring managers with talent acquisition to define role requirements, understand recruitment processes, and ongoing talent needs, coaching and advising as necessary.
- Periodically support recruitment and selection, interview candidates and coach managers on interviewing skills and techniques.
- Contribute to strategic, cross-functional projects, such as M&A and new country launches.
- Help to shape the evolution of the people agenda and take ownership of assigned projects.
What else do I need to be successful in this role?
- Ideally an Associate Member of the CIPD (or equivalent qualification).
- Proven experience in a fast-paced, commercial environment, preferably partnering within Sales and/or Financial Services.
- A detailed and practical understanding of UK employment law.
- Solid understanding of European employment laws and working practices (currently Spain, France, Portugal and Italy).
- Confident in dealing with staff at all levels and engendering trust and confidence.
- Able to rapidly grasp complex procedural and operational issues and make rapid determinations based upon this information.
- Capable of providing a high level of HR service to operations teams, without compromising HR policies or procedures.
- Experience of successfully facilitating disciplinary and grievance processes from start to finish.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills to build strong and collaborative relationships with senior leaders and line managers.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong generalist skills across recruitment, ER, performance management and engagement.
- Experience working in international, multi-site environments.
- Commitment to coaching, training, and self-development.

- 1-hour final interview with a take-home brief and presentation
