About the Company

Our client is one of the fastest-growing medical cannabis companies in Europe. With a mission to improve lives through innovative cannabis-based therapies, they are building an end-to-end ecosystem that makes access to medical cannabis safe, simple, and scalable. The company integrates cutting-edge telemedicine, pharmacy operations, and logistics to set new standards in regulated cannabis care. With operations already established across multiple international markets, they are now expanding their UK footprint—and are seeking a Superintendent Pharmacist to lead their pharmacy operations at scale.

The Role

As Superintendent Pharmacist, you will take full professional and clinical responsibility for the company’s UK pharmacy function. This is a pivotal leadership role where you’ll oversee the compliance, quality, and operational scaling of one of the UK’s most innovative medical cannabis pharmacies. You’ll lead and grow the pharmacy team, implement scalable systems, ensure full regulatory compliance, and help shape the strategy of a business at the forefront of regulated healthcare. We are not looking for someone to manage a small dispensary - we’re looking for a registered pharmacist with proven experience scaling large-volume pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with GPhC regulations and lead the delivery of safe, patient-centred pharmaceutical services
  • Oversee all professional, clinical, and operational pharmacy activities
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve SOPs across all pharmacy processes
  • Lead a growing team of pharmacists and dispensers, ensuring performance, training, and compliance standards
  • Implement automation and tech-forward workflows to increase operational efficiency
  • Own the Responsible Pharmacist duties, including maintenance of Pharmacy and Prescription Records
  • Manage controlled substances in line with UK CD regulations and best practices
  • Collaborate with supply chain, commercial, and wholesaling teams to ensure seamless importation, storage, and distribution
  • Act as the key liaison with the MHRA, GPhC, and other regulatory stakeholders
  • Monitor and report on medicines usage, purchasing practices, and cost-efficiency metrics
  • Contribute to commercial strategy by aligning pharmacy operations with business growth objectives
  • Drive continuous improvement in line with both patient experience and operational scale

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • UK-qualified Superintendent Pharmacist with an active GPhC registration is a must.
  • 5+ years’ experience managing high-volume pharmacy operations (preferably from Boots, Lloyds Pharmacy, Superdrug, or equivalent)
  • Proven success in scaling small pharmacy outlets into larger integrated operations
  • Deep knowledge of UK pharmacy law, SOP governance, GPhC inspections, and clinical governance
  • Experience managing teams, workflows, and regulatory complexity in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable implementing digital and automated dispensing systems
  • A hands-on, solutions-oriented leader with high attention to detail and a patient-first mindset
  • Excellent communication skills; able to liaise with both internal stakeholders and external regulators

Compensation

  • Competitive base salary in the range of £90,000 – £120,000, depending on experience
  • Bonus and long-term incentive structure based on performance and company growth
  • Pension, healthcare, and flexible working arrangements
