About the Role
32.5 Hours per week
Leeds City College are looking for a Food Service Supervisor to join our catering team and support the Catering Manager in delivering an excellent service. You will play an important role in ensuring high standards of customer service, food quality, health and safety, and smooth day-to-day operations. You will provide guidance and support to the catering team, help maintain accurate records and administrative processes, and contribute to the successful delivery of catering services and events. The role offers a varied and rewarding working environment, with some evening and weekend work required to meet the needs of the service.
What You Will Do
- Deliver a consistently excellent customer service across retail catering, hospitality and licensed bar operations, ensuring customer needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
- Assist the Catering Manager in delivering a smooth and efficient catering service day to day, events and performances, taking responsibility as the lead on shift when required.
- Supervise, guide and support catering staff, allocating duties, monitoring performance and contributing to induction, training and development.
- Maintain operational standards including food safety, allergen compliance, hygiene, health and safety, stock control, EPOS, cash handling and accurate record keeping.
- Support hospitality events and service improvement initiatives, maintaining attractive retail displays, product availability and positive relationships with students, staff, visitors and external clients while upholding Group policies.
About You
- Food Hygiene Certificate and a good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Experience in catering and hospitality, with the ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
- Able to organise and support colleagues, communicate clearly and work well as part of a team.
- Friendly and professional approach to customer service, with experience using tills, handling payments and promoting products.
- Reliable and adaptable, with the ability to use initiative, solve problems and maintain high standards when working under pressure.
