About the Role
Harrogate College are looking to recruit a teacher to teach across our part-time Adult courses at both our Harrogate College campus and in Ripon at a community centre location.
The post will be delivering ESOL levels 1 and 2 to our Harrogate College students at our Harrogate College campus. We are also looking for the teacher to deliver our new Community Interpreting Course at our Ripon location and so will be working in Ripon 2 days a week.
This is an exciting time to join our growing Adult education team and help us expand our provision to service the community in Ripon.
What You Will Do
- Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans.
- Develop the essential knowledge and understanding to teach Level 1 and 2 ESOL learners.
- Design and plan the curriculum for the Community Interpreting course (No additional languages required). A background in working with ESOL students will support in the knowledge required for the Community Interpreting qualification.
- Create individual SMART learning targets linked to learner study programme/course.
- Monitor students to achieve their targets and develop their skills to enable progression.
About You
You will:
- Holds a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE)
- Relevant highest level vocational qualification or degree in teaching subject
- English and Maths at Level 2 or above and a willingness to improve in one or both disciplines to level 3 or above
- Relevant up to date subject knowledge and recent delivery in the Further Education or school sector.
- Holds Assessor/IV Award or willingness to work towards within 2 years
