About the Role
32.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday and includes 2 shifts on Tuesday & Thursday evenings working until 7pm). Reduced Year - 37 weeks per year.

We are seeking a Food Service Assistant to join our catering team, helping to deliver high-quality food and excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive team where you will play an important role in creating a positive dining experience for our students, staff, and visitors. You will assist with food preparation, serving meals, maintaining high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness, and ensuring a welcoming and efficient service for all customers. Based at our Printworks Campus, which is easily accessible and close to the city's transport links, shops, and amenities.
What You Will Do:
- Assist the Chef Manager in food preparation.
- Stock & clean food display.
- Use of an EPOS till.
- Maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of the café and cooking areas, including washing up and cleaning of equipment.
- Ensure food safety requirements are adhered to at all times and all due diligence records are completed accurately.
- Be prepared to work within any of the Colleges outlets.
- Responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
About You:
- Hold a level 2 food hygiene certificate or be willing to work toward getting it.
- Knowledge of catering and hospitality practices, including food hygiene procedures and maintaining accurate records.
- Experience working in a busy customer-focused environment, including operating tills and handling cash and card transactions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to use initiative, provide excellent customer service, and identify opportunities to promote products and services.
