Keighley College is recruiting for a Teaching Facilitator in Carpentry and Joinery to join our team. This is a new role within the Construction and Building Services department. You will support the Carpentry and Joinery team with technician tasks, as well as plan, teach, and assess learning within the department. Part of the role will require some administrative duties. It is a role ideally suited for a person with a Carpentry and Joinery background who wants to start or progress their career in teaching.

What You Will Do

  • Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans
  • Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners
  • Motivate and inspire students to achieve targets and develop their skills to enable progression
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with learners and provide support to ensure successful outcomes
  • Use and promote restorative practice approaches

About You

  • Relevant highest level vocational qualification in the teaching subject
  • You will enjoy working with young people, with the ability to inspire, lead and develop effective and respectful relationships with and between students, college staff and external partners
  • A passion for bringing out the best in others and collaborating in a range of contexts
  • Relevant up-to-date subject knowledge of Carpentry and Joinery
  • Ability to inspire and motivate learners to achieve their optimum
  • willingness to gain a CertEd qualification
