About the Role
Leeds City College is looking for a Teacher to join our Foundation Studies department, a discrete element of the Luminate Education Group curriculum. The department provides bespoke learning for SEND and High Needs learners aged 16‑25 who are working towards EHCP outcomes and developing English and maths skills.
What You Will Do
- Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans, and internal verification/moderation.
- Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
- Create individual SMART learning targets linked to the learner study programme/course and record student progress.
- Maintain and update knowledge of the subject and/or vocational and educational research to develop evidence‑based practice.
- Motivate and inspire students to achieve targets and develop their skills for progression.
- Reflect on what works best in teaching and learning to meet diverse needs.
- Adapt curriculum delivery methods for maximum effectiveness, including the use of technology.
About You
- Hold a PGCE qualification.
- Experience working with SEND students.
- Understand strategies to support and develop SEND students in line with the Preparation for Adulthood framework.
- Have strong ability to develop effective relationships with students, parents and carers.
- Demonstrate rapport and empathy.
- Ability to work in a team and share responsibilities and duties.
- Good organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to work in a team towards EHCP outcomes and in line with the RARPA model of delivery.
