About the Role
Leeds City College is seeking a Horticulture Apprentice to join our dynamic team in the Animal Care and Land Management department. The role involves working alongside horticulture staff and students to maintain campus grounds, support horticulture practical classes, and participate in off the job training delivered by an external provider.
Salary: £15,742 per annum for under 18 years; £21,240 per annum for years; £24,520 per annum for 21+ years.
Location: Primarily at Temple Newsam, with potential work at Printworks or the University Centre.
Start date: September 2026. Full time, fixed term, 24 months.

- Maintain workplace health and safety.
- Minimise environmental impact and manage wastage.
- Safely operate tools and machinery.
- Keep accurate written and digital records.
- Communicate effectively across teams.
- Enforce biosecurity and pest controls.
- Manage plant health and care.
- Prepare sites and plant new materials.
About You
- Relevant highest level vocational qualification (at least Level 1) in horticulture or related field.
- Up to date subject knowledge in horticulture and workplace practice.
- Ability to follow direction, be adaptable and flexible.
