About the Role:
Leeds City College are recruiting for a Course Leader in Digital and IT (including Computer Science) to join our team. We are looking for a committed, passionate educator to work within our team of highly skilled teachers and support staff. Working in a collaborative and progressive team, you’ll be encouraged to bring fresh ideas, experiment with new approaches, and contribute to a curriculum that reflects the ever-evolving tech landscape. Based at our historic Printworks campus, the School of Digital Technologies offers a variety of courses to over 400 students, ranging from Level 1 to Level 3 Access to HE courses, alongside a suite of T level qualifications.
What You Will Do:
- Deliver and manage BTEC courses at Level 3, with a particular focus on Foundation Diploma delivered to full time learners, mainly aged 16-18.
- You will be responsible for planning, tracking and assessment throughout the year.
- Work with the Digital and IT team to facilitate relevant lesson delivery which will mirror the ever-changing nature of the business world.
- Be responsible for the creation and upkeep of course review documents throughout the year.
- Lead on all quality aspects of course delivery and reporting.
- Support, guide and assist learners throughout their academic journey by helping to create exciting and relevant industry-standard resources that can aid in the delivery of the business courses within our school.
- Manage curriculum team meetings to ensure standardisation, schemes of learning, learner profile and student progress and tracking are as expected for each unit of the course and report to your line manager.
About You:
- Have experience in a Further Education setting specialising in delivery at levels 2 and 3, and be able to demonstrate a passion for new and innovative ideas around curriculum development.
- Have current Digital and IT teaching experience and be looking for your next step into course leadership.
- Show positive management of students to ensure excellent retention, achievement, success and attendance with the cohort of learners.
- Build positive relationships with students and staff using restorative practice techniques, be flexible and a positive role model across the campus.
- Have excellent organisation skills and the ability to provide productive insight into the development of the courses.
