As an Infrastructure Engineer at EiS, you’ll play a key role in supporting and modernising IT infrastructure for schools, academies, and other customers. You’ll work on cloud migration, networking, Windows Server administration, user devices, and classroom technologies, delivering practical solutions while contributing to high‑profile projects. What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering and supporting on‑premises and cloud IT solutions across customer sites and remotely.
- Leading complex IT projects, ensuring delivery to time, cost, and quality standards.
- Providing expert advice on technical roadmaps, best practices, and service improvement opportunities.
- Conducting site, cloud, and network surveys to inform proposals and solutions.
- Delivering proactive and reactive IT support, including 3rd line escalation for complex issues.
- Troubleshooting advanced problems in networking, Windows Server, cloud platforms, and user devices.
- Supporting curriculum‑based solutions and classroom technologies.
- Liaising with third‑party suppliers and contractors to ensure effective service delivery.
- Highlighting IT risks and recommending mitigation steps in collaboration with the Lead Infrastructure Engineer and Team Manager.
- Documenting incidents, changes, and project progress accurately.
- Sharing knowledge, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to a culture of learning.
- Completing mandatory training in Cyber Security, Risk Management, Data Protection, and cloud technologies.
- Undertaking any additional duties reasonably aligned to the role.
What we’re looking for:
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, including English and Maths (grade C/4 or above).
- Relevant ICT industry certifications (Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Level 3 ICT Diploma, or equivalent experience).
- 1–2 years delivering cloud migration projects, including planning, execution, and optimisation.
- Strong background in IT networking (WAN, LAN, Wi‑Fi).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Entra, Intune, Exchange) and Azure services.
- Experience managing user devices and management platforms such as EISnet and RMCC4.
- Familiarity with school MIS solutions (SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom).
- Expertise in Windows Server and virtualised environments.
- Experience supporting classroom technologies (touch panels, smartboards, projectors) and other school solutions.
- Conducting comprehensive site, cloud, and network surveys.
- Experience in IT Service Delivery and project‑based environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently on complex tasks.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, logical troubleshooting, and resilience under pressure.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to prioritise and manage conflicting demands.
- Customer‑focused with a professional, solution‑oriented approach.
- Attention to detail and quality standards.
- Knowledge of Dynamics 365 is desirable.
- Familiarity with ITIL, Service Desk Institute standards, and achieving SLA targets.
- Awareness of corporate policies, change management, procurement processes, and support procedures.
- Understanding of EIS products and services is advantageous.
