The opportunity
Our small but mighty data team has built a modern platform on AWS, delivering everything from real-time dashboards to internal web applications. You'll pair with experienced engineers, learn a modern TypeScript stack properly and steadily take on more ownership as your confidence grows. You won't be maintaining legacy systems or fixing tickets in isolation. You'll contribute to greenfield applications that support our growth strategy, with support close at hand whenever you need it.
What you'll be doing
- Building features for full-stack apps using React, TypeScript and Node.js, with support from senior engineers
- Working on well-scoped pieces of larger projects, growing into more ownership over time
- Talking directly with advisers and operations teams to understand what they need
- Helping build responsive, intuitive frontends for non-technical users
- Contributing to APIs and backend services under the guidance of senior team members
- Writing tests for the code you ship and learning our CI/CD pipeline
- Taking part in code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback
What we're looking for
- A basic understanding of how frontend, backend and databases fit together
- Comfortable using Git and version control
- A genuine eagerness to learn, and the confidence to ask for help when you're stuck
- A strong team player with good written and verbal communication skills
- Structured mentorship from experienced engineers
- A clear path to grow into a mid-level full-stack role
- A modern tech stack and best practice from day one
- Direct exposure to senior stakeholders and business strategy
- A supportive team where questions are welcomed, not penalised
Working pattern:
Hybrid, with 2 days a week at our St Albans HQ and genuine flexibility
