The Role
As a Senior Presales Engineer, you will be a critical part of our sales process, acting as a subject‑matter expert who drives the technical sale and influences purchasing decisions. You will lead strategic presales initiatives, designing and demonstrating advanced technical solutions that align with complex business problems. Your expertise in bridging technical complexities with clear business value will be crucial in guiding clients through the sales journey, from initial discovery to successful implementation. The Day Job
- Advanced Solution Design & Strategy: Lead the design, customisation, and optimisation of technical solutions and frameworks that solve complex customer problems. Map technical capabilities to specific business objectives, ensuring the proposed solution delivers tangible value and ROI.
- Presales Presentations & Demonstrations: Deliver compelling and interactive product demonstrations and presentations to diverse audiences, including C‑level executives and technical end‑users. Translate complex technical features into clear business benefits, focusing on the customer's perspective and needs.
- Technical Deep Dives & Expertise: Act as the primary technical point of contact, answering complex technical questions and addressing concerns regarding integration, performance, scalability, and security.
- Discovery & Qualification: Lead comprehensive discovery calls to deeply understand prospect pain points, goals (financial, customer‑related, operational), existing processes, budget, authority, need, and timeline (BANT framework). Research prospects and their companies to gain valuable context ahead of calls.
- Proposal Development: Generate tailored technical content, statement of works, architect solution proposals, and contribute to RFX responses, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client requirements. Leverage AI tools for efficient content generation and proposal drafting. Employ a strategic and empathetic approach to address and resolve client concerns (technical, functional, pricing). Utilise active listening, probing questions, and value‑based selling to overcome objections and facilitate successful deal closures.
- Collaboration & Cross‑Functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with Account Executives, Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to define solution objectives, integrate presales insights into product roadmaps, and ensure seamless customer onboarding.
- AI Integration & Application: Proactively explore, evaluate, and integrate AI tools (e.g., Generative AI in Snowflake Cortex) to automate repetitive tasks, improve content generation, summarise calls, answer technical questions, and optimise sales pitches and meeting preparations. Ensure ethical and responsible use of AI outputs, verifying accuracy and managing potential hallucinations. Mentor and guide junior presales engineers, providing expertise on best practices, methodologies, and tools for solution design and client engagement. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the presales team.
