Countrywide Surveying Services Training Academy is now recruiting a Trainee Residential Surveyor based in the York Area to join the next intake onto our highly successful AssocRICS Training Programme. This structured programme blends hands-on mentoring with virtual classroom-based learning, giving you the practical skills, professional knowledge, and confidence to thrive as a qualified Residential Surveyor.

If you’re passionate about property and eager to develop a long‑term surveying career, you could be a great fit. You’ll qualify if you meet ONE of the following:

  • 1 year relevant experience + RICS‑accredited bachelor’s degree
  • 2 years relevant experience + RICS‑accredited higher/advanced/foundation qualification
  • 4 years relevant experience in Estate Agency or Domestic Energy Assessment (no qualification required)

We also welcome candidates who have completed the SAVA Diploma in Residential Surveying & Valuation.

Role Responsibilities

As a Trainee Surveyor, you’ll learn directly from experienced professionals while building your technical expertise. Your role will include:

  • Shadowing mentors during property inspections, surveys, and valuations
  • Attending structured classroom and workshop sessions
  • Learning how to interpret data, analyse property details, and produce accurate professional reports
  • Developing skills in industry‑leading surveying tools and software
