We are looking for someone to join our People Services team on a 6 month FTC to work in our compliance team. You will be working in our Milton Keynes office. You will be required to process pre-employment checks for new candidates in line with the Pre-Employment Screening Policy with the purpose of minimising risk at all times. You will work closely with the People Services Administration team to facilitate a smooth onboarding journey.
Responsible for ensuring the Group comply with UK Right to Work legislation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Checking pre-employment reference forms and Right to Work documents for new candidates to ensure all information is present and valid.
- Ensuring the Pre-Employment Screening policy is adhered to at all times and working practices are in line with the policy regulations.
- Identifying the different referencing requirements for each job role and ensuring these have been met.
- Contacting new candidates where reference requirements have not been met.
- Contacting ex-employers to request employment references and making sure they are provided in a timely manner.
- Following the escalation and/or risk acceptance process where pre-employment references cannot be obtained.
- Processing credit and criminal checks on Experian and obtaining risk acceptance should any adverse risks be identified.
- Ensuring all relevant candidate information is available to allow the Quality Assurance Department to carry out DBS and credit checks for regulated roles.
- Dealing with colleague enquiries in a satisfactory and professional manner.
- Having a good understanding of the Right to Work process and UK legislation.
- Identifying ways to improve and automate processes with a customer-centric approach ensuring a seamless experience.
- Being flexible in your approach in order to support other team members within the wider People Services where needed.

- Previous experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in an administrative role.
- Previous experience of handling data.
- Understanding of numerical information.
- Proactive, enthusiastic, someone who strives for excellence.

- Must have the ability to work efficiently with high volumes.
