Responsibilities / Position overview

We're looking for a client-focused

Vice President, Client Strategy to join our Medical and Scientific Communications group.

In this leadership role, you'll be responsible for developing trusted client partnerships, leading high-performing account teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of strategic engagements.

You'll combine scientific understanding with commercial acumen to successfully execute and deliver client projects.

Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you'll ensure excellence in client service while identifying opportunities to grow long-term partnerships and expand our business.

Responsibilities include

  • Lead strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and healthcare clients, serving as a trusted advisor throughout the client lifecycle.
  • Oversee a portfolio of medical and scientific communications programmes, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, anticipating client needs and developing solutions that deliver long-term value.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to account teams, creating an environment that supports collaboration, development, and exceptional client service.
  • Partner with scientific, editorial, creative, and operational colleagues to deliver integrated, high-quality communications programmes.
  • Oversee account financial performance, including forecasting, budgeting, scope management, and profitability.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client partnerships and contribute to business development through proposals, strategic presentations, and new opportunities.
  • Champion operational excellence, ensuring teams follow established quality standards, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Support resource planning, and capability development to strengthen the Client Strategy function.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience leading client services or account management within a medical communications, scientific communications, healthcare communications, or life sciences agency.
  • A strong understanding of the clinical development process and strategic communication planning impact me
  • A proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients.
  • Experience overseeing complex, multi-workstream medical communications programmes and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including budget ownership, financial forecasting, and account growth.
  • Demonstrated success identifying and developing new business opportunities within existing client accounts.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A collaborative leadership style with experience coaching and developing high-performing teams.
