We are seeking an experienced finance professional to join our global Project Finance team. The Project Finance team is at a pivotal stage of evolution. We are building on a strong accounting and compliance foundation to become a proactive, insight-led partner to the business. By collaborating closely with delivery stakeholders across the project lifecycle, we aim to enhance decision quality, improve profitability, and maintain robust financial control.

The Manager, Project Finance is responsible for the integrity of project financial data while driving process improvements and system optimization to enhance efficiency and scalability. Beyond oversight and controls, this role delivers advanced analytics and reporting that enable better forecasting, margin management, and decision-making. Acting as a trusted advisor to project and delivery leaders, the position provides proactive commercial guidance to improve profitability, strengthen financial discipline, and support the organization’s broader strategic objectives.

Primary aspects of this role include:

  • Financial Data Quality & Integrity: Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of project financial data from setup to closure in our core systems (NetSuite, Kantata). Oversee month-end project reviews, project closure, and expense management. Maintain robust accounting controls and facilitate audit readiness. Partner with FP&A, Business Partners, and Accounting & Reporting on budgeting, forecasting, and project-level financial analysis. Leverage project data to identify and action margin enhancement opportunities (e.g., pricing disciplines, reduced overruns, improved utilisation).
  • Process & System Optimization: Drive the refinement of project finance processes and system functionalities to improve efficiency and scalability. Identify opportunities for automation, standardisation, and centralisation of workflows. Partner with Enterprise Applications to optimise NetSuite–Kantata integrations and ensure consistent data capture. Embed system controls that support margin initiatives and facilitate performance improvements.
  • Advanced Analytics & Reporting: Design and deliver trusted, insightful reporting that empowers leadership and project managers. Utilise data analytics to identify trends, forecast performance, and highlight risks and opportunities. Support the embedding of project margin KPIs across the portfolio. Develop dashboards to improve accessibility of financial insights.
  • Strategic Business Partnering & Commercial Insight: Act as a trusted advisor to project leads and delivery teams to improve commercial outcomes. Provide proactive financial guidance on pricing, utilisation, and capacity planning. Collaborate with stakeholders to address project overruns and optimise resource planning. Support initiatives that drive profitability and align with the company’s strategic objectives.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in project or commercial finance with a solid grounding in project accounting, revenue recognition, and financial analysis. They are technically confident with financial systems and reporting tools, capable of designing meaningful KPIs and translating complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders. Equally important, they are a proactive problem-solver and collaborative communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and can drive process improvements while influencing both finance and non-finance teams.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a Project Finance, Commercial Finance, or related role, ideally within a professional services organization.
  • Demonstrated experience managing closure activities and driving process transformation improvements.
  • Full/part-qualified accountants preferred but experience in similar roles considered (CIMA/ACA/ACCA).
  • Strong understanding of project accounting principles, revenue recognition and financial analysis techniques.
  • Ability to navigate and learn financial systems and interfaces.
  • Working knowledge in NetSuite and/or Kantata a plus.
  • Experience in design and delivery of KPIs and reporting to senior stakeholders; familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Experience with complex financial data analysis, identifying key drivers, and translating insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Proactive driver of change, with a track record of identifying inefficiencies and proposing solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Experience presenting complex financial information to diverse audiences.
  • Must be comfortable working in a changing environment, and able to manage multiple priorities and challenging deadlines.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary plus annual bonus scheme
  • Private health insurance plus enhanced dental and optical cover
  • Generous pension scheme
  • 25 days paid holiday
