Position Overview
Candidates will be responsible for the architecture, design and verification of FPGA sub-systems within Lumacron’s flagship network monitoring products. The role is multi-disciplinary and includes development of FPGA IP Cores, full FPGA System-on-Chip RTL designs and verification testbenches. Senior roles may include mentoring of less experienced colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Experience of the following;
- Designing FPGA architectures from a technical specification
- Design with Xilinx and Intel FPGA and CPLD devices
- Implementing high speed, multi-frequency clocking architectures
- Designing (code entry to timing analysis) using Intel and/or Xilinx FPGA tool sets
- Designing for high-speed optical interfaces
- Designing for high-speed SERDES interfaces (up to 28G)
- Knowledge of revision control systems; CVS, Subversion, GIT or similar
- Ability to work to tight timescales, individually and collaboratively
- Qualified to degree level in electronic engineering, computer science or equivalent discipline or equivalent experience
- Experience of designing FPGA IP cores or sub-systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing software / embedded software for FPGA-based hardware systems
- Specific experience of Telecommunication/Data Communication hardware products
- Knowledge of Telecoms Framing and Packet structures (OTN, SONET/SDH, PDH, Ethernet)

Edinburgh, UK. This position is based out of CACI's Edinburgh campus.
