Role Overview

This rewarding permanent opportunity is ideal for a qualified teacher who is passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Autism, learning disabilities, Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN), and additional learning needs.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCP outcomes.
  • Teach learners with SEND, Autism, learning disabilities and communication needs.
  • Create an inclusive, nurturing and engaging learning environment.
  • Support learners to develop academic, personal, social and independent living skills.
  • Work closely with Learning Support Assistants, therapists and multidisciplinary professionals.
  • Monitor learner progress and contribute to annual reviews and assessments.
  • Promote confidence, wellbeing and successful preparation for adulthood.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching or supporting learners with SEND.
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and person‑centred learning approaches.
  • Experience working with Autism, learning disabilities, SEMH or communication needs is highly desirable.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
