We are looking for a Deputy Nursery Manager who shares our values and is passionate about delivering high-quality care and learning experiences for children, while supporting and developing a strong team.

Role of a Deputy Nursery Manager
  • Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day leadership and organisation of the nursery
  • Take responsibility for the setting in the Nursery Manager’s absence
  • Support the planning and coordination of rotas, routines and nursery operations
  • Ensure high standards of safeguarding, health, safety and wellbeing are maintained
  • Review and monitor compliance documentation
  • Support quality assurance processes, inspection readiness and continuous improvement
  • Contribute to self-evaluation and development planning
  • Support, mentor and develop team members
  • Assist with the induction of new team members
  • Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
  • Act as a calm and professional point of contact
  • Support the organisation of resources and environments
Qualities and Characteristics

  • Confidence to take responsibility and act as a senior presence

  • Experience in a senior practitioner, team leader or deputy role within a nursery setting
  • Confidence supporting operational leadership and decision-making
  • Relevant early years qualification (above SVQ Level 3)
  • Experience supporting compliance, quality improvement or inspection preparation

  • Salary: £32,000 - £34,000 per annum (based on experience)
