Lineage is the global leader in temperature‑controlled logistics, with a clear mission: to transform the food supply chain to eliminate waste and help feed the world. We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to help provide reactive and preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
Shift Available: Rotating 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 / Weekend on call 1 in 3
Salary: Competitive
The role:
- Diagnose and Resolve Equipment Failures: Quickly respond to faults across mechanical, electrical, and including cranes, conveyors, refrigeration, and plant utilities – identifying root causes and implementing sustainable fixes.
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks in line with PPM programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Monitor and Maintain Coldstore Systems: Regularly inspect and ensure the Coldstore plant is operating within temperature thresholds. Support the refrigeration servicing schedules and report any deviations or concerns to leadership promptly.
- Reduce downtime and improve reliability: Resolve breakdowns and improve the reliability of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Team collaboration: Support the wider team in solving problems and keeping our facility moving.
- Work environment: Perform work in a cold environment (~-18 °C) and sometimes on ladders at height. Full PPE is provided.
Who we're looking for:
- Recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, ONC/HNC or equivalent). Mechanical Engineering knowledge also beneficial.
- Proven hands‑on experience in a maintenance role, ideally with refrigeration experience and mobile racking.
- Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with food safety standards, health & safety legislation, and maintenance best practices.
- Willingness to learn and improve your skills.
- Effective communicator in English with a proactive and adaptable approach.
