We are currently recruiting for two additional HGV Class 2 Drivers to join our Transport division located in Hams Hall.

Working hours: Monday to Friday Days (Typical start times are usually between the hours of 4:00am - 6:00am)

Hourly Rate: £15.90 per hour paid weekly.

Any hours worked over 39 hours each week is paid at time and a half.

  • Multi drop experience preferable. Fit and able to do job. Tail lift/pump truck working daily.

The role

In this role you will complete varied tasks which include:

  • Support and assist the Transport Managers to ensure all functions of the operation is running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Ensure the vehicle is always legal and roadworthy – all daily checks are completed in line with the Daily Vehicle Check Sheet and in line with the ‘Guide to maintaining road worthiness’. To ensure any vehicle defects are reported.
  • Carry out multi‑drop deliveries in a timely and safe manner.
  • Complete manual and pallet pump truck work with certain drop offs.
  • Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law.
  • Drive within tachograph law and driver hour limits.
  • Ensure the correct goods have been loaded and are secure before moving the vehicle.
  • Check goods off with Customers and obtain signature and print.
  • Be aware of the vehicle inspection rota for servicing and MOT and bring to the Transport manager attention if necessary.
  • To ensure that your DCPC periodic training hours are maintained and completed within the five‑year period.

What we are looking for

  • Class 2 driving experience & valid Class 2 license.
  • Full valid Digi‑Tacho holder, DQC card holder and Driver CPC.
  • Good driving skills and knowledge of current Road Transport Regulations and comfortable with night shifts.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Numerical and focused on accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to operate tail lift and PPT. Tail lift/pump truck working daily.
  • Multi drop experience.
