To support customer demand, we are currently seeking a HGV Class 1 Driver at our Heywood depot.

Shift availability: 4 on 4 off working on days (some early starts around 03:00-07:00).

Rate of Pay: £15.61 per hour up to 39 hours each week. Plus £40.00 per week shift allowance. Paid weekly.

Any hours worked over 39 hours each week will be paid at time and a half.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the vehicle is legal and roadworthy at all times – all daily checks are completed and any vehicle defects are reported.
  • Ensure the correct goods have been loaded and are secure before moving the vehicle.
  • Carry out trunking and multi-drop deliveries in a timely manner and in accordance with the law (including drivers' working time regulations).
  • Double-check deliveries with the customer while providing a polite and helpful experience. Obtain relevant signatures and paperwork before returning to the depot.

What are we looking for?

  • Someone with a C+E driving licence, a valid in-date DigiTacho and CPC.
  • Previous Class 1 driving experience.
  • Someone who can lift up to 18 kg.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with other team members in English.
