We are seeking a Domestic/Kitchen Assistant for Acorn Lodge Care Home, Hackney, E5
Mainly Domestic Role, however, you will be required to work as a Kitchen Assistant as and when required
Domestic
To ensure all public areas, lounges, corridors and lounges are cleaned as per cleaning schedules.
To clean Service Users rooms, considering their rights to privacy, paying attention to high dusting and moving of furniture.
To ensure that Service Users are helped to retain their dignity and individuality. To clean all WC’s and bathrooms as scheduled by the Centre Manager.
To shampoo carpets as required.
To clean light shades as per schedule.
To clean and maintain cleaning equipment.
To observe COSHH and other health and safety regulations.
To ensure Service Users safety whilst using cleaning equipment.
To take all reasonable steps to ensure the safekeeping of Service Users property.
Carry out general household duties that promote the welfare of residents.
To be aware and comply with the centres Operational Policy and Procedures as documented in the Quality Manual.
To be fully conversant with the rules and procedures carried out in the event of fire.
To report all accidents and incidents to the Person-in-Charge of the Home.
To be aware of and comply with the requirements regarding dress, behaviour, punctuality and attendance as indicated in the Disciplinary and Grievance Procedure, Disciplinary Rules and Contract of Employment.
Where centre policy is proved to be ill defined, or is becoming unworkable, please ensure that the Centre Manager is informed.
To attend appropriate training courses or study as requested.
To be aware of and implement any Quality initiatives developed by the Company.
To undertake other duties requested by the Home Manager.
To ensure the kitchen and equipment is kept clean and to help with the preparation of food when required.
To be available to assist the Chef in any job that is deemed necessary which could include: Washing up, Preparation of vegetables, Cleaning of kitchen and equipment, Assist with the cleaning of serveries on a daily basis, Collect and distribute crockery from the resident areas, Preparation of meals within your capabilities.
For compliance with the Health & Safety Policy in kitchen and stores.
To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and stores.
To be fully conversant with the rules and procedures carried out in the event of fire.
To ensure all Procedures and Work Instructions in the Quality Manual are undertaken.
