MISSION The role is responsible for contributing to the design and development of coffee systems and brewing units, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and product quality. This involves contributing to system architecture development for coffee machines, design and development of mechanical and hydraulic elements, providing seamless integration of all components, and researching and proposing sustainable solutions. Further, the role entails working closely with relevant Research and Development and cross-functional teams involved in coffee machine development to provide alignment of features and requirements, and contributing to feasibility evaluation and prototypes development. Lastly, the role requires monitoring KPIs and metrics to measure the performance of coffee machine systems and brewing units, monitoring trends, emerging technologies and best practices, and providing reports with key insights and updates to management for decision making.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contributes to the design and development of coffee machine brewing units and systems, including the mechanical and hydraulic components (e.g., brewing mechanics, motors), ensuring functionality, reliability and adherence to quality standards;
  • Contributes to system architecture development for coffee machines, working with Research and Development teams focused on coffee machines development (e.g., Engineering, Electronics) to smoothly integrate mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components;
  • Researches and proposes sustainable solutions for coffee machine systems and brewing units, contributing to environmental initiatives;
  • Conducts tests and analyzes data to evaluate the functionality and performance of the coffee machine as a whole, ensuring effective integration of key subsystems, including water heating, brewing, and capsule handling, to create a cohesive and high quality coffee brewing system;
  • Works closely with Research and Development teams focused on food product and packaging development to provide compatibility between coffee capsules and coffee machines;
  • Works with cross-functional teams (e.g., Marketing, Production) to align overall coffee machine system and components with new product development requirements, while contributing to financial and technical feasibility assessment;
  • Participates in prototypes development and evaluation, ensuring adequate transformation of design concepts into physical or virtual models, and reviewing tests to assess usability, functionality and reliability of the product;
  • Contributes to research and evaluation of potential partners and suppliers for components or technological development, providing inputs for partnership suitability, and preparing proposals for contract negotiations;
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of design and development guidelines and standards for coffee machines system and brewing units, documenting design decisions, creating reference materials, and contributing to consistency and quality;
  • Ensures coffee machines system and brewing units comply with relevant industry regulations and safety standards;
  • Keeps track of KPIs and metrics to measure the performance of coffee machine systems and brewing mechanism, providing reports with variances and key insights to management for decision making;
  • Conducts research and analysis on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in coffee machine systems and brewing units development to identify opportunities for improvement, providing relevant updates to management.
