Job Description:
As a Machine Borer, you will be responsible for the following:
- Operate all types of boring machines to precision standards
- Work independently, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills
- Read, interpret, and apply information from technical drawings
- Take ownership of your tasks and contribute to team responsibilities
- Possess a solid understanding of horizontal boring practices
- Accurately measure using the imperial system
- Adhere to all company procedures, including OHM, CMM, and SOPM standards
- Maintain awareness of environmental responsibilities as outlined in company policies
- Keep your Practical Experience Record (PER) book up to date
- Provide training to other personnel when required, depending on your qualifications and experience
- Always work in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company protocols
The ideal Candidate should meet the following requirements:
- GCSE-level education or equivalent
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Machining background essential; CNC and aerospace experience desirable
- Knowledge of horizontal boring machines a plus
- Familiar with machine shop practices and basic IT systems
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy aircraft components
