Job Description:

As a Machine Borer, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Operate all types of boring machines to precision standards
  • Work independently, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Read, interpret, and apply information from technical drawings
  • Take ownership of your tasks and contribute to team responsibilities
  • Possess a solid understanding of horizontal boring practices
  • Accurately measure using the imperial system
  • Adhere to all company procedures, including OHM, CMM, and SOPM standards
  • Maintain awareness of environmental responsibilities as outlined in company policies
  • Keep your Practical Experience Record (PER) book up to date
  • Provide training to other personnel when required, depending on your qualifications and experience
  • Always work in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company protocols

The ideal Candidate should meet the following requirements:

  • GCSE-level education or equivalent
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Machining background essential; CNC and aerospace experience desirable
  • Knowledge of horizontal boring machines a plus
  • Familiar with machine shop practices and basic IT systems
  • Able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy aircraft components
